Welcome to the Blount County Engineering Department.  The County Engineer’s Office provides professional engineering recommendations and assistance to the Blount County Commission and its members.  We are dedicated to helping the Commission provide safe and reliable roads and bridges for the citizens of Blount County. Our Responsibilities

  • Administers the Blount County subdivision regulations
  • Acquires and administers grants, federal aid, and state aid for various projects
  • Inspects bridges to maintain compliance with the US DOT FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards
  • Administers the Blount County Floodplain Ordinance
  • Administers and inspects roadway and bridge projects that are contracted using county funds
