Economic Development
Established in 2014 as a partnership between our 12 local municipalities, the Blount County Commission, Alabama Power, the Blount County Healthcare Authority, and local business and community leaders, the Blount County Economic Development Council, Inc. strives to create and maintain a competitive business environment for the expansion, retention and recruitment of businesses in Blount County and surrounding areas.
The BCEDC works to encourage and facilitate entrepreneurship, industrial retention, recruitment and expansion, commercial development and trade; and to render aid, encouragement and assistance to governing bodies, corporate entities and citizens, in pursuits related to economic development and growth for Blount County and the surrounding region.
