Adventure

The Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River provides a fun outing for kayaking and boating enthusiasts of any skill level. With 100 acres and a half mile of 70 foot cliffs and boulders, Palisades Park is among the best rock climbing opportunities in the Southeast, and also hosts hiking trails, two playgrounds, three event cabins, six pavilions, free Wi-Fi, and the state’s tallest fire tower, currently under renovation. Blount County maintains three historic covered bridges with breathtaking views of rivers, cliffs, and geological features formed over millions of years. DeSoto Caverns State Park features an immense cave filled with formations, primitive and RV camping, and a host of family attractions.
